So I after getting my motor cycle permit last week, its time for my class witch will yield my license. Its 15 hours spread out between today and the weekend, its not going to be fun waking up at 5

WB, Netflix, Walmart, and now Bestbuy have all dropped support for HD-DVD. That means Blu-ray is now the standard for hi-def. Its not that I don’t like Sony, my bedroom TV, digi camera, old camcorder, and work laptop are all Sony. I just hate there proprietary formats they push. Betamax, minidisc, UMD, memory stick, and others are all failed formats that only work with sony only hardware. In my old age now, when I buy new hardware I place a lot of emphasis on standards, I’m done buying proprietary stuff. My cell phone was the last piece of tech gear I bought. My choices where the Treo, HTC TyTnII or the iPhone. While the iPhone is nice, its not really a PDAPhone. Then it came down to a treo or the HTC, and the treo had some ridiculous cable to sync and charge with. The TyTnII has usb, I can charge it from anywhere without special cables. Universal is the way to go.

Out with the old and in with the new. After months of overpaying because my bill was never correct, I’ve switched to the HTC TyTn II and moved to AT&T from Verizon. So far so good

I’m going back to college!
Had my first class yesterday, pre-calc 101. Its been a long time since I’ve seen quadratic equations and points on a line but its all starting to come back to me. Prof Brent is funny and he keeps it entertaining. I’m glad I’m back in school and hopefully this time around now that I’m older and wiser that I’ll make it happen.

For those that don’t know, my lamp blew 3 days in on my new 65HM167 Toshiba TV. I call Toshiba 8 am on Friday for a replacement bulb, I talk to a very nice women who says she can get one out next day for Monday delivery. I was pushing for Saturday delivery and I even told them I would pay for the extra service but for some reason they can’t take money hence no expensive Saturday delivery, fine Monday will have to do. Well here is it Monday and I don’t have a bulb waiting for me at the house. I call them up to find out it didn’t even ship Friday, it shipped today, but not even next day, some A-hole boss downgraded it to 2nd day so I’m screwed till Wednesday now. Leaving me to say WTF Toshiba……

An update over what happened this weekend. Camping was rained out, its a good thing we didn’t go to because it was coming down!
Sunday was a good day and paintball went on as planned. My A-5 started misfiring the cyclone feed the only day I didn’t bring a back up gun
Its torn apart right now and I’ll be getting a new valve for it. I still got several out and good times had by all!
Then John was over while I was putting together the stand to my new TV and he was like “Do you have a big screw driver and hammer?” then he said “Ohh here is a screwdriver” and I was like “here is a hammer”. Then he stabbed my beer frig and all the coolant leaked out and it died.

Over the past several days after work I’ve been working on changing my rear axle. As of last night the new one is in and I have the Jeep rolling around. I took a look at the brakes and they have as much meat on them as my old axle so I won’t have to do anything to them. So far my only problem is the a crappy job bleeding the brakes, the light is on the the pedal is very soft. Other then that it looks pretty good!

So I had a bottle early of my second beer last night and I’m a little concerned. I was saying that it was to sweet, Pat was saying it was to bitter, and Dana was in the middle. To me the initial taste was bitter but then somehow it goes to being to sweet, then finishing with a lingering after taste. Now because I has some early it wasn’t fully carbonated so maybe with some time it might even out. So far the consensus is that its not as good as batch 1. /cry The only thing left to do is improve on batch 3! Which I should make this weekend.

So I went to Gamestop last night at midnight to get my copy, and by 1:30 AM it was installed, and after 2 patch downloads I was playing by 2. About 6 or 7 guildies were also on and we were all running around the new area doing some of the first quests. I would imagine that the people who didn’t buy there’s at midnight will be doing that today so we’ll be hitting the instances tonight in full force. Good times for all

So I got a Wii last week and its awesome. Friday night was the big night I had everybody over, we ended up playing until sometime around 3:30 in the morning. We made Mii’s for everybody and far Ed’s is by far the best. Sports and Rayman is what we played and in Rayman there is 1 mini-game that stuck out. The object is to pump your carrot juice with the nun-chuk up and down and aim and shoot your carrot juice at the faces of invading bunnies, its just a little odd is all I’m saying. Fun was had by all! I also started Zelda, I stopped and saved when I was transformed into a dog. I also bottled my second batch of beer Sunday night so in 2 weeks it’ll be ready to drink! I made a pale ale this time and my tasting before the bottling was good so I have no worries. Time to get to work on my next batch!

My costume was a big hit last night at Michelle’s Halloween party, everybody loved it! I had to take it off after about 20 minutes but I put it back on when some other people showed up late. I couldn’t sit down, look down at the floor, or walk up stairs so it wasn’t very practical to keep on for a long time, but the bottom line is it kicked ass.

I’ve decided to be Optimus Prime for Halloween this year. All my past Halloween costumes were lame and this year I’m making up for it. The ultimate goal here is to have this thing transform as well, which so far still looks feasible. But in the end if I run out of time or it doesn’t work out then it’ll still be a kick ass Optimus Prime costume. Here is what I have so far, more to come later…
