Blu-ray wins :(

WB, Netflix, Walmart, and now Bestbuy have all dropped support for HD-DVD. That means Blu-ray is now the standard for hi-def. Its not that I don’t like Sony, my bedroom TV, digi camera, old camcorder, and work laptop are all Sony. I just hate there proprietary formats they push. Betamax, minidisc, UMD, memory stick, and others are all failed formats that only work with sony only hardware. In my old age now, when I buy new hardware I place a lot of emphasis on standards, I’m done buying proprietary stuff. My cell phone was the last piece of tech gear I bought. My choices where the Treo, HTC TyTnII or the iPhone. While the iPhone is nice, its not really a PDAPhone. Then it came down to a treo or the HTC, and the treo had some ridiculous cable to sync and charge with. The TyTnII has usb, I can charge it from anywhere without special cables. Universal is the way to go.

Speaking of universal, I think Universal Stufios would be a fun place to visit. (Not anytime soon, just in general.) Jason, you need to help us buy a new tv when our tax returns / tax rebates come in. !!!!!SEGWAY!!!!! Speaking of fun, we should do something fun soon. Shadow’s b-day this Saturday at that piano place on Lansdown.
